As a Direct Support Professional Assistant, you will participate as a member of the team; foster an environment, which supports individuals in pursuit of their hopes, dreams, and personal outcomes. You will address any situations that may arise and ensure a safe and secure environment. You will provide guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security, and safety for the individuals we support through direct interaction with the individual.
Minimum Requirements
High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations preferred.
Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Medication administration training required (may be obtained after turning 18 years of age).
First Aid training required and CPR Certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire).
Bureau of Criminal Affairs background study clearance required.
Driver's license required. Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required upon turning 18 years of age. Cannot drive an LSS vehicle until 18, after vehicle safety training and implementation of an MVR.
Ability to read, write, and use computer required.
Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to recognize boundaries.
Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
Patience, self-control, and flexibility.
Computer Skills that support LSS technology.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
